7.9 percent of the University of West Alabama students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018

In 2017-2018, 7.9 percent of the University of West Alabama students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The University of West Alabama has 2,154 undergraduate students, of which 58 percent are women and 42 percent are men, and a total student body of 5,200 students. Of these students, 263 men and 148 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at the University of West Alabama with the most participants are football (111), soccer (62) and track and field, outdoor (58).
