Bibb Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women’s constitutional right to vote, buildings and landmarks across the country light up in purple and gold on August 26, 2020 as part of the Women's Suffrage Centennial Commission’s nationwide Forward Into Light Campaign, named in honor of the historic suffrage slogan, “Forward through the Darkness, Forward into Light.”
The Bibb County Courthouse clock will light up in purple and gold at dusk this evening as we participate in this once in a lifetime moment.
