Marion Military Institute issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
On Sept. 11, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) landed their helicopter on the Givhan Parade Field. MMI & SCSO have partnered to bring interested cadets an overview of the duties, responsibilities, and requirements to become a Deputy Sheriff.
During the semester, cadets will get to visit SCSO training facilities and will attend classes presented by SCSO Deputies. The initial interest in the new Law Enforcement Program has been tremendous with more than 20 cadets signing up.
