Christmas has come early for Green Pond Fire & Rescue. Yesterday we had the privilege of receiving our brand new 2021 Kenworth pumper/tanker that was built by Deep South Fire Apparatus. The funds for this apparatus were awarded to us through a FEMA grant in 2019.
This apparatus is crucial for firefighting in our area and surrounding areas due to the lack of fire hydrants in our rural vicinity. This apparatus carries 2,000 gallons of water and is capable of several firefighting procedures with its own pump built in. Over the next few weeks our personnel will be training and getting familiar with the apparatus to better serve this community.
