The University of West Alabama Is Included in a Severe Weather Outlook

Weather

The University of West Alabama is included in a severe weather outlook. Threats include tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, and localized flash flooding. These threats should be taken seriously, and everyone is strongly encouraged to closely monitor local weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel during inclement weather.

The University campus is closed for Spring Break, but those who are in campus housing for the week should remain weather alert and follow guidance from UWA Housing in the event that conditions require evacuations of residence halls.

*If you have any mobility needs, please make prior arrangements with your neighbors to assist you during a tornado warning or other emergency.

In addition, the city of Livingston has a shelter located on Hwy 11, adjacent to the Fire Station. The address is 1304 N Washington St, Livingston, AL 35470.

Further announcements will be distributed to area media, sent to all faculty, staff and students via UWA Alerts, and posted on the University's website. Please consult these outlets for further announcements.
