Census Bureau: More women than men in Sumter County in 2020

Of the 12,595 people living in Sumter County in 2020, 54.4 percent (6,851) were women and 45.6 percent (5,744) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the WC Alabama News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 698. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,353 females and 943 males.
