Bibb County Sheriff's Office H.E.A.T. Unit and S.R.T. deputies chase a wanted suspect into an alligator infested swamp to make an arrest. Deputies searching for the suspect at a home on Grover Drive flushed him out of hiding on the property. The man, armed with what appeared to be a machete, ran into the woods dropping the weapon during the foot pursuit. Deputies caught up with the suspect in waist deep water in a swamp near Gibson Lake, where he continued to resist being taken into custody. During the altercation the man was tased, apprehended, and walked out of the swamp by deputies, through an area where an eleven-foot alligator is known to inhabit. In addition to the warrant, the suspect is now charged with four counts of Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers, Interference with Government Property and Probation Violation.
