Week ending Nov. 5, 2022: Three businesses registered in cities found in Marengo County

There were three businesses that registered in cities within Marengo County in the week ending Nov. 5, 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is an increase from the week before, when no licenses were issued.

Demopolis registered the most businesses in Marengo County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
