Wallace State Hosts Kiddie Volleyball Camp | Wallace Community College Selma
Wallace Community College Lady Patriots volleyball program hosted a kiddie volleyball camp that included girls from all over the Black Belt, including Meadowview Elementary, Sophia P. Kingston, Bruce K. Craig, Southside Primary, Payne Elementary and Edgewood Elementary.
Over 35 campers showed up on March 18 to be introduced to the basic skills and fundamentals of volleyball.
Lady Patriots Co-captain Katlyn Lawson said, “I think it was a great turnout for it to be our very first camp, and the kids had fun. I believe this was important to put a name out there for Wallace and to show that it’s bigger than volleyball. We want to be well known in our community.”
Co-captain Erin Nelson agreed. “Today was really good,” Nelson said. “I’m proud of what we accomplished in the two days it took to set up and prepare for this big event. I think that God really had movement through here, and everybody was able to experience a family, not just a team.”
The Lady Patriots Volleyball Program hopes to continue this camp every year.
