19.5% of citizens unemployed in Perry County in 2021

Perry County recorded an unemployment rate of 19.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 594 people out of the 8,702 living in Perry County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Perry County has increased compared to the 11.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Perry County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 2,452 people who had a job during that time, 7 were employed in the Armed Forces and 2,445 belonged to the civilian labor force.
