7% of Pickens County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Pickens County recorded an unemployment rate of 7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 518 people out of the 19,240 living in Pickens County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Pickens County has decreased compared to the 8.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Pickens County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 6,925 people who had a job during that time, 29 were employed in the Armed Forces and 6,896 belonged to the civilian labor force.
