2022: 15 coaches at institution in Sumter County earned on average $51,015

Sumter County’s 15 coaches earned an average salary of $51,015 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 12th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Alabama post-secondary schools during 2022.

Sumter County is home to just one post-secondary school which paid coaches during 2022.

Male coaches of men's teams received $57,386 on average in Sumter County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $45,496.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
